When I became pregnant in 2014 with my first daughter, I honestly had no idea what I wanted from my birth. While I was leaning towards a natural birth, I was open to whatever needed to happen and ended up choosing an epidural and then c-section. It was right for me at the time. When I became pregnant again, I did know what I wanted – a VBAC. Overcoming all my doubts and fear and having a powerful and positive birth experience changed my life. I immediately knew after this birth that I had found my calling in life and soon after became certified as a doula through Birth Arts International.
Since then, I’ve had the joy of assisting at all kinds of births, in all types of locations, with all kinds of birth plans. One thing I know to be true is that every woman has a right to be supported in her vision and should have the opportunity to prepare for the birth she wants.
As of 2020, I have attended nearly 100 births. I have attended births at every Seattle hospital, freestanding birth centers, and home births. I have experience in using hypnosis for birth, cloth diapering, baby led weaning, baby wearing, newborn sleep, breastfeeding, nutrition, baby positioning, single parents, VBAC, HBAC, and all types of birth plans medicated, non-medicated at the hospital and non-medicated outside of the hospital.
